Bangladesh fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman joins Pakistan Super League (PSL)

Bangladesh pacer Mustafizur Rahman has joined the Pakistan Super League (PSL) after removing from Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026. The PSL confirmed a signed contract with Mustafizur Rahman after being excluded from the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026.
The PSL confirmed this through a post on its social media handles. “Batters better shake carefully… its going to Fizz in the #NewEra. Mustafizur Rahman joins HBL PSL 11!”.

This all happened after Mustafizur Rahman was released by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) from their IPL team. KKR had bought him for Rs 9.20 crore in the IPL auction after competing with Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Capitals. However the BCCI had askrd from KKR to release him, without clearly explaining the reason. The BCCI only said about this that it was due to ” recent developments all around.”

After this decision, the Bangladesh Cricket Board requested that Bangladesh T20 World Cup Matches should be moved from India to Sri Lanke. Bangladesh has also decided not to show the upcoming IPL matches on television in the country.

The Bangladesh Ministry of Information and Broadcasting said that the BCCI has not given any clear or logical reason for asking KKR to remove Mustafizur Rahman from the IPL squad.
